TapTechNews August 14th news, Kuaishou officials released an announcement today: The short drama 'Return to 1990: The Life of the Richest' has been taken down, and will continue to crack down on illegal micro-short dramas. The key points of the announcement are as follows:

Recently, the platform launched the 2024 'Clear and Orderly Audio-Visual' network micro-short drama special governance action. During the inspection, it was found that the micro-short drama 'Return to 1990: The Life of the Richest' and 'Return to 1990: The Tyrant Life' (previously renamed as 'Return to...', 'Rebirth...', etc.) have problems such as vulgar content and deviated value orientation. The platform has completely taken down the drama and permanently banned the account 'Watch **** Field'.

Kuaishou officials said that the platform will continue to strengthen the inspection of micro-short dramas, and strictly deal with micro-short dramas with illegal problems such as promoting bad values, pornographic vulgarity, bloody violence, low style, and ugly aesthetics.

TapTechNews previously reported that Kuaishou announced in May this year that micro-short drama works without a filing number will be prohibited from being operated and promoted on the platform starting from June 1. The platform will review the micro-short drama works operated, and developers cannot use technical means to avoid/resist relevant requirements, otherwise, depending on the severity of the problem, the highest measure of banning the mini-program will be taken for processing.
