Hongqi to Expand in Europe and UK with electric models in 2026

TapTechNews July 12th news, Hongqi started to enter the overseas market in 2018 and has currently established electric vehicle sales networks in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, etc.

Hongqi now announces that it will launch its EH7 and EHS7 electric vehicle models in European countries where it has established dealer relationships such as Norway, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden. According to AutoCar, Hongqi will also enter the British market with two electric vehicle models in 2026.

Yang Dayong, president of FAW's overseas business, said at the Goodwood Festival of Speed: Hongqi is a household name in China, and we hope to start a new chapter in other regions. We understand that European consumers attach great importance to high-quality products, and we believe Hongqi can exceed their expectations.

Hongqi has not disclosed the pricing details yet but said that these two models can complete charging within 30 minutes at minus 10 degrees Celsius and still maintain 50% effective range at minus 20 degrees Celsius, so it is very suitable for the cold climate in the UK and Europe.

Referring to the previous report of TapTechNews, the Hongqi EH7 has officially gone on the market in March 2024, with a maximum range of up to 820 kilometers. This car is also the first model launched after the independent operation of Hongqi's new energy sub-brand.

The Hongqi EH7 measures 4980 × 1915 × 1490mm with a wheelbase of 3000mm. It is built based on the new FMEs flag architecture and has five configurations, with a price range of 229,800 yuan to 309,800 yuan.

The Hongqi EHS7 is positioned as a medium and large pure electric SUV and has previously completed the declaration and achieved its world premiere at the Beijing International Auto Show. The car measures 4925 × 1950 × 1680mm with a wheelbase of 3000mm and has single-motor and dual-motor versions.
