However, the exterior design of the new car is actually no longer a secret. Since January 2022, many test cars have been photographed. From the currently exposed information, the new car will adopt a more aggressive front bumper design, including sharp air intakes and a protruding front lip. The side will add sporty side skirts and lightweight wheels, combined with a high-performance braking system. The rear part of the car will also adopt a sporty rear bumper and a four-exhaust system.

TapTechNews noticed that although BMW is reticent about the details of the power system, BMW Chairman Oliver Zipse confirmed that the new M5 will first launch the sedan version and then the touring version (Touring). Zipse also confirmed that the new M5 will adopt a plug-in hybrid power system, and the cruising range in pure electric mode is more than 43 miles. The specific power parameters have not been announced, but it is expected to be similar to that of the XM Label model, equipped with a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, a lithium-ion battery pack and an electric motor integrated in an 8-speed automatic transmission. This power assembly can bring 550 kilowatts and 1000 N · M torque performance on the XM Label.
