The news was disclosed by the German game publication Games Wirtschaft. According to reports, among the three console manufacturers, Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, two have already confirmed not to participate in this year's Cologne Game Show - the other one is Nintendo, which had already confirmed in April this year that it will not participate for the time being.

It is reported that it is not excluded that Sony PlayStation may hold other sponsored events at the Koelnmesse International Exhibition Center, thereby obtaining the admission ticket to participate in the opening ceremony performance on August 20. At the beginning of the Cologne Game Show in 2022, Sony released the DualSenseEdge controller in this way.

TapTechNews note: The last time Sony participated in the Cologne Game Show was in 2019, when Hideo Kojima presented Death Stranding.

And during and after the epidemic, Sony has been insisting on previewing and officially announcing its future new works on its own State of Plays and PlayStation Showcases and other events.
