Audi released the first official photos of the mid-term facelift model of the RS3 yesterday, TapTechNews reported on June 22, and announced that it achieved a lap time of 7 minutes, 33 seconds and 123 milliseconds on the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany (note: The Nurburgring Nordschleife is a famous racing track in Germany), refreshing the compact car lap record previously held by the BMW M2G87 by 5 seconds.
The new Audi RS3 is equipped with a five-cylinder 2.5TFSI engine (1 horsepower is approximately equal to 0.7457 kilowatts) and can output 400 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The estimated combined fuel consumption is 2.07~2.23 US gallons per 100 miles.
TapTechNews noticed that the vehicle that set the lap record was a test vehicle driven by FrankStippler and equipped with Pirelli PZero Trofeo R semi-slick tires, carbon ceramic brake system and RS sports suspension.
Audi will announce the official data of the vehicle when the official communication begins on August 20 this year.
