Hefei Guoxian announced that it will build the world's first 8.6-generation AMOLED production line equipped with FMM-free technology (ViP), which is the world's most advanced high-generation AMOLED production line, accelerating into the new blue ocean of medium size.

The production line is located in Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Zone, with a total investment of 55 billion yuan, and the designed capacity is 32,000 glass substrates per month (size 2290mm×2620mm), and Hefei Guoxian is responsible for the investment, construction and operation of this production line.

TapTechNews learned from public information that Hefei Guoxian was established on March 04, 2024, funded by Visionox and Hefei investment platform, and currently 100% held by Visionox.

According to the introduction, the 8.6-generation AMOLED production line of Hefei Guoxian aims at the medium and large size market and brings several technologies such as ViP, LTPO+, COE, and Tandem:

1. ViP technology (Visionox Intelligent Pixelation Technology)

ViP technology is the key technology for OLED to break through to larger sizes and higher-generation production lines, with core advantages such as FMM-free, independent pixels, and high precision. Compared with traditional technologies, ViP technology can significantly improve product performance and production efficiency.

2. New LTPO+ technology

On the basis of the existing LTPO backplane technology, it further evolves to improve product performance and reduce power consumption, and can also further improve the picture quality. The production line is also compatible with the production capacity of all-oxide drive backplane, has the potential to produce low-cost products, and enhances the cost competitiveness of the production line.

3. COE technology

Compared with the traditional polarizer scheme, it reduces the thickness of the screen body, and the power consumption is reduced by 25%, which has significant advantages in the field of folding products and portable IT products, and makes further contributions to low-carbon and environmental protection.

4. Tandem OLED technology

By connecting multiple light-emitting units in series, it meets the needs of low power consumption, high brightness, and long life for medium and large size OLED panels.

In terms of size upgrade, the new production line can produce larger size AMOLED panels, covering multiple size application fields such as tablets, laptops, in-vehicle, and monitors.

Hefei Guoxian said that currently AMOLED is accelerating its penetration into medium-size applications such as tablets, laptops, and in-vehicles, and it is expected that the shipment volume will迎来 a turning point growth in 2024.
