Volvo EX90 Pure Electric SUV Missing Functions upon Delivery, Updates to Come

TapTechNews June 30th news, after commencing mass production at its factory in South Carolina earlier this month, Volvo is sending emails to inform customers that the EX90 pure electric SUV will be missing some functions upon delivery and will be implemented through subsequent OTA updates.

Lidar prioritized for safety scenarios: Update to enhance lidar capabilities, support emergency avoidance at night

After the update, it will support warning of moving objects at intersections and automatic braking when necessary

Corner speed assistant: After the update, the pilot assist/ACC will automatically reduce the speed when going through curves

Apple CarPlay will be supported after the update

The light color theme of the vehicle-mounted computer: Currently, the instrument screen and central screen only have the black theme, and the light color theme will be provided in subsequent updates

Battery power loss: Currently, the background system consumes 3% of power every 24 hours and enters the deep sleep mode after 72 hours, and will be optimized in subsequent OTA

Intelligent charging: In the future, it will support intelligent charging at the lowest price and the most efficient time period.

Plug and charge: In the future, it will support plug and charge without swiping a card or using an App

Reverse power supply: In the future, it will support the EX90 to reverse power supply to the household/grid

The starting price of the 2025 Volvo EX90 in the US is $76,695 (TapTechNews note: currently about 558,000 yuan), equipped with a 111 kWh battery and 402 horsepower dual motors, and it is expected to start delivery in the second half of this year.
