China's Remarkable Achievements in Green Transformation and New Energy

The relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission said that China is one of the countries with the fastest reduction in global energy consumption intensity. In the first three years of the '14th Five-Year Plan', excluding raw material energy consumption and non-fossil energy consumption, the national energy consumption intensity has cumulatively decreased by about 7.3%; China has the largest installed capacity and the fastest development speed of renewable energy in the world; in addition, China has built the largest and most complete new energy industry chain in the world.

Zhao Chenxin, deputy director of the National Development and Reform Commission, said that the output of photovoltaic modules has ranked first in the world for 16 consecutive years, providing 70% of the photovoltaic modules and 60% of the wind power equipment to the world. In the first half of 2024, the market penetration rate of new energy vehicles in China reached 35.2%, ranking first among major economies.
