GAC AION Delivers 200 Pure Electric Taxis in Thailand

According to TapTechNews on May 26, according to the official public account of GAC AION, GAC AION held a delivery ceremony of 200 (the first batch of 50) AION S pure electric taxis at Khon Kaen International Airport in Thailand yesterday. This ceremony was jointly held by GAC AION and EVME, an electric vehicle rental company under the Thai national oil company (PTT). The series of models will replace 1000 fuel taxis by the end of the year.

GAC AION stated that its AION S model fully meets the needs of the Airport of Thailand (AOT), and in the future, related models will also be gradually promoted to other major international airports in Thailand to replace traditional fuel taxis.

TapTechNews found out through inquiries that AION S is a special model manufactured by GAC AION for the overseas travel market. The car has dimensions of 4545x1870x1650mm (about 14.9x6.1x5.4 feet) and a wheelbase of 2750mm (about 8.9 feet), and is equipped with a 150kW magazine battery, with a maximum cruising range of up to 610 kilometers (NEDC) on a single charge.
