Cadillac Developing New Generation of Sedans, Celestiq Updates

TapTechNews June 5th - According to the Australian car media DRIVE reported today, Cadillac is currently developing a new generation of sedans. Mike Simcoe, Vice President of Global Design at General Motors, revealed at a recent media roundtable that Cadillac's all-new sedan will be released in the next few years and the company will introduce a brand-new sedan portfolio.

He also stated that in Cadillac's future product lineup, an economy pure electric sedan will have a place. SUVs are inevitable, they have already occupied the market as a comfortable and rational choice. However, for those who can afford it, there will always be people who will choose a model other than SUVs as their second car, and sedans have not died out.

Cadillac has previously launched a pure electric sedan, Celestiq, which focuses on ultimate luxury. The first limited edition Celestiq has begun manual assembly this year at the General Motors Global Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, USA, with an annual production capacity expected to be between 100 and 150 vehicles.

The starting price of Celestiq is about $340,000 (TapTechNews note: currently about RMB 2.462 million). Despite the high price, Cadillac said that Celestiq was sold out in December last year, and the orders were lined up for 18 months later. To meet the needs of customers, Cadillac provides a large number of customization options for Celestiq and even allows customers to make any personalized request, adhering to the principle of never refusing customer requests, which can be described as sparing no expense.
