IM Motors and SAIC AI Lab's Efforts in L4 Autonomous Driving and Future Plans

TapTechNews July 12th news, at the '14th China Automobile Forum' held today, Yu Qiankun, the chief engineer of the L4 autonomous driving project of IM Motors, said that SAIC AI Lab is working with IM Motors to build the third-generation Robotaxi technical solution, which adopts a fully vectorized mass-production styling design.

He said that by 2025, SAIC AI Lab's Robotaxi will enter the 4.0 stage and form the mass-production L4 intelligent driving ability facing major cities across the country.

At present, IM Motors' 'high-precision map-free urban NOA' has been officially launched in 4 cities such as Shanghai, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Suzhou. At the same time, public beta testing has also been started in 7 cities such as Beijing, Nanjing, Chengdu and Xi'an, and it is expected to officially open nationwide within the year.
