Volkswagen Announces 2024 Jetta in the US

The new car in the domestic market corresponds to the already offline "FAW-Volkswagen Sagitar" model, mainly optimizing and upgrading in terms of appearance. The starting price is 22,000 US dollars (TapTechNews note: currently about 160,000 yuan). It is expected to arrive at North American dealers in the third quarter of this year.

It is known that the new Volkswagen Jetta family includes the regular version Jetta and the performance version Jetta GLI. The series models have a new exterior design language and adopt a honeycomb mesh grille, among which the performance version grille has a red trim strip, and there is also the English word "Let's Go" inside the grille.

The interior layout of the new Jetta is basically the same as that of the current model, and the main change is that the size of the center console has increased (the specific parameters have not been disclosed by the official for the time being), and at the same time, the center console adds ChatGPT assistant support.

In terms of specifications, the official has not yet announced the specific length, width, height and wheelbase information of the series models. However, it is known that the regular version of the new Jetta is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 118 kilowatts (160 horsepower) and a peak torque of 249 Newton meters, matching a 6-speed manual transmission; while the new Jetta GLI is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with a maximum power of 170 kilowatts (231 horsepower) and a peak torque of 350 Newton meters, matching a 7-speed DSG dual-clutch transmission.
