Huawei and Guangdong Unicom's 5G-A Live Streaming Initiative in Guangzhou

TapTechNews June 17 news, Huawei and Guangdong Unicom, together with the Agricultural and Rural Bureau of Zengcheng District, Guangzhou City, held the “5G New Lychee Quantity” lychee live streaming festival event in Zengcheng District, Guangzhou City.

During the event, a trial use of 5G-A network was conducted on site, and the uplink rate in the speed test exceeded 500 Mbps, which is the first pilot of 5G-A in rural live streaming in China.

Compared with 5G, 5G-A increases the downlink peak rate from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps, and the uplink peak rate from 100 Mbps to 1 Gbps. The bandwidth is increased by 10 times. The 5G-A live streaming can dynamically guarantee differentiated experience according to the needs of different live streaming users.

In addition, live streaming personnel used 5G live streaming cards in multiple lychee orchards to conduct live streaming for the promotion and sales of the lychee brand.

The 5G live streaming card solves the need for ultra-high uplink bandwidth of live streaming users and meets the continuous and stable user experience of “large traffic, high definition, and low stuttering” in the live streaming scene. Since its launch in 2022, it has developed more than 300,000 users and covers live streaming sales in multiple industries such as agriculture, tourism, clothing, and e-sports games.

Guangdong Unicom and Huawei cooperated to introduce intelligent network elements and 5G slicing technology, giving higher QoS guarantee to the video live streaming package, thereby achieving a 50% traffic increase and a 4 times uplink speed increase, from the uplink speed of standard users at 30-50 Mbps increased to 150 Mbps-200 Mbps.
