Microsoft Pushes Windows 11 24H2 Update, Wi-Fi 7 Support Details

TapTechNews June 20th, it was reported on June 17th that Microsoft was the first to push the Windows 11 24H2 feature update to computers with Qualcomm Snapdragon XPlus and XElite processors (also known as Copilot+PC).

Microsoft has now released a blog article detailing some of the game optimizations and feature improvements in Win11 24H2, including functions such as the Prism simulator and BattlEye anti-cheat.

In addition, Microsoft also updated the support article about Wi-Fi, emphasizing that Wi-Fi 7 support will be provided for the first time in the 24H2 version. In addition, Microsoft also released a usage guide to instruct users on how to ensure their PC enables Wi-Fi 7 network.

It is currently not clear whether older versions of Win11 or Win10 will support this technology, as we've already determined that Windows 10 does not support the 6GHz band, but previous Windows 11 versions may not have been restricted.

You can now open the Command Prompt (or Windows Terminal) and enter the command netsh wlan show drivers to check for support of the latest Wi-Fi technology and see if the Supported Radio Types field includes 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) or 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6/6E), and then check if Authentication and cipher supported in infrastructure mode includes WPA3-Personal and WPA3-Enterprise.

According to previous leaks, Microsoft plans to push the 24H2 official version update to PC users with Intel and AMD processors by the end of September or early October, but currently this update can also be obtained in the internal preview channel.
