Ubisoft to Remove Songs from Chinese Version of 'Just Dance' in 2024

TapTechNews May 15 news, Ubisoft announced on May 13 that due to licensing restrictions, some songs in the Chinese version of 'Just Dance' will be removed from the 'Just Dance Unlimited' subscription service on August 2, 2024.

Players will still be able to play over 500 songs in the 'Just Dance Unlimited' subscription service. For players who still have an active subscription on August 2, 2024, they will receive an additional 100 days of 'Just Dance Unlimited' subscription.

Over two hundred songs will be removed in the future, the majority of which are foreign songs, including songs from well-known artists or groups such as Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, BLACKPINK, Maroon 5, One Direction, etc.

According to previous reports from TapTechNews, on December 15, 2023, the Chinese version of 'Just Dance' officially announced the cessation of updates to its song library, which at the time included over 700 songs.

The Chinese version of 'Just Dance' is currently exclusive to Tencent's locally produced Switch, and it cannot be played on other consoles or international versions of the Switch. The standard version is priced at 299 yuan, while the unlimited version is currently priced at 459 yuan

The Chinese version of 'Just Dance' includes multiple popular Chinese and global songs, such as 'Utopia', 'Most Dazzling National Style', 'Strange Beauty', 'Queen', and many other popular Chinese songs. Ubisoft also offers a one-month free trial of 'Just Dance Unlimited'.
