TapTechNews reported on May 15th that Mercedes-AMG's latest entry-level GT sports car, the AMGGT43, has been launched in Germany, with a starting price of 118,388 euros (approximately 92.6 million RMB, equivalent to $113,101 in US dollars), a bit cheaper than the Porsche 911. The AMGGT43 features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with an output of 310kW with the help of an electric turbocharger. Unlike previous V8 versions, the new AMGGT43 cancels the all-wheel drive system and offers only rear-wheel drive. The vehicle is described as a pure driver's car with agile handling, dynamic performance, and driving pleasure. The dimensions of the car are 4728/1929/1354 mm with a wheelbase of 2700 mm. The engine can produce a maximum power of 310kW and 500Nm of torque, with an additional 10kW of power support from the electric motor. The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h is 4.6 seconds, with a top speed of 280 km/h. The exterior of the AMGGT43 has been redesigned to distinguish it from the V8 versions. The front bumper no longer has a grille extension, and the front and rear fenders are slimmer. The rear bumper has a simpler design and circular exhaust pipes instead of trapezoidal ones. The interior features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and an 11.9-inch touchscreen for the MBUX infotainment system. The standard AMG sport seats are wrapped in Nappa leather, with the option for AMG Performance seats. The GT43 comes standard with a composite brake system, five-link suspension, aluminum dampers, and lightweight steel springs. Higher-level suspension systems and rear-wheel steering are optional. The AMGGT series will also introduce a plug-in hybrid V8 flagship EPerformance model with a combined output of over 800 horsepower.
