Initiation of National Standard Formulation for DC Household Electrical Appliances Safety in China
TapTechNews September 24th news, according to the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, on September 23, 2024, the Secretariat of the National Household Electrical Appliances Standardization Technical Committee organized and held the kick-off meeting of the national standard formulation work of Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part XX: Special Requirements for DC Household Electrical Appliances in Beijing.
The director of the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, Liu Ting, the deputy director of the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute, Qu Zongfeng, and the deputy secretary-general of the National Household Electrical Appliances Standardization Technical Committee, Yan Ling, attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Peng, the Secretariat of the National Household Electrical Appliances Standardization Technical Committee.
In his speech, Liu Ting pointed out that household electrical appliances are widely used, and the DC conversion of products is of great significance for the low-carbon transformation of buildings. However, at present, there is no national standard specifically for DC household electrical appliances in China, which has brought certain difficulties to consumers' use, enterprises' production, and government supervision. Formulating a national standard for the safety of DC household appliances is conducive to further regulating the market, promoting the healthy development of the industry, and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
The meeting established the national standard drafting working group for Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances - Part XX: Special Requirements for DC Household Electrical Appliances, and the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute served as the lead unit. At the meeting, Minister Feng Changqing of the Smart Home and Software Testing Center of the China Household Electrical Appliances Research Institute introduced the technical framework and main contents of the standard; the representatives attending the meeting put forward opinions and suggestions around the draft from the aspects of the rationality of the standard framework, the content of the draft, and the work focus.
In the next step, the drafting working group will further improve the standard text according to the standard framework and main technical contents determined by the meeting.
