Microsoft Pushes KB5043178 Update for Windows 11 24H2 with Multiple New Features and Fixes

TapTechNews October 1st news, Microsoft Corporation released a press release yesterday (September 30th) and pushed the KB5043178 update to Windows 11 24H2 devices, and the user version number increased to Build 26100.1882 after installation.

[Start Menu]

New feature: After the user clicks the Start Menu, a logout option will appear in the account manager. To switch to another user, please select the ellipsis (...). At this time, a list of other users will appear for easy switching.

[Taskbar]

New feature: Users can directly share local files from the search results displayed in the taskbar search box.

[Settings]

New feature: The DeliveryOptimization settings page matches the Windows 11 design.

New feature: The new energy-saving suggestion is to turn off High Dynamic Range (HDR). This helps devices with HDR displays save energy. Go to Settings > Power and Battery > Energy Suggestions.

[Lock Screen]

New feature/characteristic: When the media is playing, the media control buttons will now be displayed in the center position below the lock screen.

[Battery Life]

New feature: When the battery power of the device is about to run out, a window will pop up asking you to plug in the device power. This will happen when the battery power reaches 20% and the energy-saving mode is set to Always On.

General fixes

[Open Source Software]

This update added attributes to the credits.txt file of the Rust open source software component.

[Input Method Editor (IME)]

When the combo box has input focus, a memory leak may occur when closing the window.

[WebView2 applications]

They cannot detect input from Xbox 360 and Bluetooth controllers.
