Tesla's redesigned Model 3 price adjustments and features
TapTechNews June 18th news, Tesla quietly lowered the price of the redesigned Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive version in the US market, with a reduction of $250 (about 1,816 RMB currently). Currently, the starting price of this model is $47,490 (about 345,000 RMB currently). Before the redesign, the starting price of this model was $47,740. For reference, the official guided price of the domestic Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive version on sale is 271,900 RMB.
The new Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive version has a cruising range of 341 miles (TapTechNews note: about 548.79 kilometers) (EPA estimated value), a maximum speed of up to 201 kilometers per hour, and a 0-60 miles per hour acceleration time of 4.2 seconds. Among all the redesigned Model 3 models, this version has the longest cruising range.
It should be noted that since the new high-performance Model 3 Performance was launched, the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version in the US has faced severe sales challenges. The reason is that the starting price of the high-performance model is $54,990, and it can enjoy a $7,500 tax credit provided by the US federal government, while the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version does not have this benefit.
After enjoying the tax credit, the starting price of the high-performance model will drop to $47,490 (including tax credits and fuel savings costs), the same as the price of the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version. Although the cruising range of the high-performance model is slightly lower (501 kilometers), its performance is more powerful, with a 0-60 miles per hour acceleration time of only 2.9 seconds and a maximum speed of up to 262 kilometers per hour. At the same time, the high-performance model also provides a more sporty exterior design and a special interior style.
In the US market, due to the existence of the high-performance model, the price advantage of the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version is not obvious. However, in other countries and regions, for consumers who pay more attention to the convenience of daily use rather than ultimate performance, the Long Range All-Wheel Drive version is still a very practical choice. After all, this model has the longest cruising range among all the redesigned Model 3 models currently.
On April 21 this year, Tesla adjusted the prices of domestic models on sale, and the prices of Model 3, Model Y, Model X, and Model S were all reduced by 14,000 RMB. After the adjustment, the official guided prices of the long-range and long-range all-wheel drive versions of Model 3 are 231,900 RMB and 271,900 RMB respectively. In addition, on June 2, Tesla announced that the high-performance version of Model 3 will be officially sold from pre-sale, and the first batch of deliveries is expected to start in mid-June, and the official guided price of this car is 335,900 RMB.
