All three of Weilai, XPeng, and Li Auto have adjusted their intelligent driving organizational structures. As previously reported by TapTechNews, in June this year, it was said that NIO reorganized its intelligent driving team, and the perception and regulation control teams were merged into a large model team; in July this year, it was said that Li Auto established an end-to-end autonomous driving entity organization with a scale of about 200 people.

XPeng's adjustment this time focuses on the Technology Development Department, which is XPeng's algorithm research and development department, covering algorithm research and development of perception, planning, control, and positioning. After the adjustment, The Technology Development Department was split into three departments, namely AI End-to-End, AI Application, and AI Energy Efficiency.

Among them, the AI End-to-End department is responsible for the research and development of the end-to-end model, and the AI Application department is responsible for delivery. This adjustment is equivalent to the algorithm team being split into two, one part to do the model and one part to do the delivery.

He Xiaopeng previously said that the combination of end-to-end + large model can solve the software architecture of L2 to L4 and truly realize the globalization of intelligent driving, which is the best solution for autonomous driving in residential areas and all internal roads.
