Microsoft to Require Chinese Employees to Use Only Apple Devices, Affecting Hundreds

TapTechNews July 8th, Bloomberg today claimed to have obtained an internal memo showing that Microsoft will soon require its Chinese employees to only use Apple devices to verify their identities when using work computers or mobile phones. Starting from September this year, they will only be able to use iPhones for work, effectively excluding Android devices from the workplace.

TapTechNews learned from the report that this measure is part of Microsoft's global Secure Future Initiative and will affect hundreds of employees in the Chinese mainland, aiming to ensure that all employees use applications such as Microsoft Authenticator and IdentityPass. This move will affect hundreds of Microsoft employees in the Chinese mainland.

The memo stated that the reason why Microsoft made this decision is that mobile phones with the Android system in the Chinese region cannot use Google services such as the Play Store. And employees who previously used Android phones (including devices such as Huawei and Xiaomi) will receive an iPhone 15 phone. Microsoft will set up multiple pickup points in various places in China including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to distribute iPhones.
