The holder of the 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars' self-media account is Gu Yubo, and the programs mostly conduct 'opinion output' for car companies, car models and even users. Before it was banned, it had nearly 5.4 million fans on the Douyin platform and received 55.083 million likes.

Last May, NIO launched a lawsuit against the holder of the Douyin account 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars', Gu Yubo, tentatively demanding that he delete relevant videos, publicly apologize and compensate 5 million Chinese yuan ($0.725 million). NIO's legal department once said that in Gu Yubo's videos, there were some 'untrue accusations' against NIO.

Gu Yubo once sued NIO Holdings Limited, NIO Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd., and Xuzhou NIO Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd. due to a sales contract dispute. NIO's legal department responded in August last year that in view of Gu Yubo's abuse, slander and attack on NIO and its users, NIO had notified the cancellation of the car purchase agreement, refused to sell NIO brand vehicles to him, and refunded all the money and paid the double vehicle deposit involved in the agreement on the day of cancellation.

In November last year, the first-instance judgment of NIO's lawsuit against Douyin's 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars' for reputation infringement was pronounced, determining that Gu Yubo intentionally distorted and fabricated facts and violated NIO's reputation rights, and requiring him to publish an apology statement on the Douyin account 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars' for ninety consecutive days, and at the same time compensate NIO for economic losses and other amounts totaling more than 600,000 Chinese yuan within ten days after the judgment takes effect.

And in February this year, the legal department of XPeng Motors announced that it received an apology letter from 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars', which mentioned that 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars' had once denigrated the XPeng Motors brand and slandered the products and services of XPeng Motors in the videos released on March 28 and April 8, 2023. At that time, 'Xiaoniu Talking about Cars' said that the two parties had reached a settlement, and plaintiff Guangdong XPeng Motors Technology Co., Ltd. had already applied for withdrawal.
