Google Announces Chrome 126 Browser to Introduce GeminiNano at I/O 2024 Developer Conference

TapTechNews reported on May 15th that Google announced at today's I/O 2024 developer conference that Chrome 126 browser will introduce GeminiNano, which can achieve text generation locally.

Last year, Google launched the lightweight GeminiNano model for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro phones, which can run locally.

In order to use GeminiNano on Chrome browser, Google further optimized the model for the browser, greatly improving the speed of loading the model.

Users can call GeminiNano in Chrome 126 browser to directly generate product reviews, social media posts, and other summaries.

TapTechNews notes: Last year, Microsoft also introduced an AI assistant, Copilot, in Edge, which allows you to ask questions and summarize information on the screen. Unlike GeminiNano in Chrome browser, Copilot in Edge does not run locally on the device.

Google also announced that Gemini features will be available in Chrome DevTools, allowing developers to debug and adjust applications. Gemini can explain error messages and provide suggestions on how to solve coding issues.
