Microsoft Is Exploring Managing and Installing Fonts with WinGet

For experienced users who are familiar with the command line, they may be more accustomed to managing Windows software packages with the WinGet method and now users can use this tool to manage fonts including those from third parties.

Fonts are usually stored in the C:\Windows\Fonts path, and each file may have its own version. Managing fonts for users is usually troublesome and can lead to some problems and requires downloading multiple files. Microsoft is exploring to solve the above problems in the new version of WinGet to achieve installation and version control.

Microsoft's product manager for Windows Package Manager, Demetrius Nelon, raised this proposal and solicited feedback from the open source community and Microsoft developers.
