Intel Launches AIPlayground at Computex Taipei

On June 5th, TapTechNews reported that Intel launched a brand-new artificial intelligence tool - AIPlayground at the Computex Taipei, aiming to enable beginners in generative AI to get started quickly. This software is expected to be available for free download this summer.

It is worth noting that AIPlayground needs to be paired with Intel's AIXMX engine, so an Arc discrete graphics or an Intel Core Ultra processor with integrated Arc GPU is required.

Intel stated that AIPlayground can be installed like other Windows applications and can run AI functions locally on a PC without the need for command lines and scripts.

According to the introduction, AIPlayground has an integrated AI center and will initially offer three AI functions: image generation, prompt-based image editing function, and 'Answers' (local chat LLM).

Intel stated that although the functions are limited, they are all carefully designed to create an 'entry-level application' and be the first step for users to move towards deeper-level tools.

Here, TapTechNews takes the AI image generation function as an example. The AI image generation function of AIPlayground has greatly simplified the operation steps compared to the common AI image tools in the market. It hides professional names that confuse ordinary users such as 'LoRAs' or 'chedulers', and replaces them with sliders that are easier to understand, such as 'image quality' and'resolution'. In addition, AIPlayground also supports manual mode, allowing'middle-level users' to make more in-depth adjustments.

Similarly, the image editing function is also very easy to understand. Users can simply click to achieve image enlargement, restoration, filling, retouching, or extension.

Moreover, it also supports the 'Answers' function, which is a service similar to ChatGPT chatbot. However, Intel did not fully demonstrate its capabilities but only let it recognize a wrong 'haiku' and a line from the Monty Python troupe.

Intel stated that the real potential of 'Answers' lies in that it can be trained based on local text files and obtain answers from them, which has obvious privacy and security advantages compared to ChatGPT.
