Suzuki Launches Limited Edition Jimny Horizon in Germany

TapTechNews July 9th news, in order to bid farewell to the current non-electrified Suzuki Jimny small off-road vehicle, Suzuki has launched a limited edition model of 900 units in Germany - the Jimny Horizon. The new car is equipped with an exclusive body kit and a wealth of modified accessories.

The biggest highlight of the Horizon version lies in its retro-style air intake grille with the Suzuki brand logo printed on it. In addition, this version is also equipped with an aluminum front bumper underrun protector, matching side skirts, and a spare tire cover with the Suzuki brand logo printed on it. In addition, the mud guard and black steel wheels make the whole vehicle look more tough. The new car also provides a detachable trailer hitch. The Horizon version only provides the 'edium gray' color coating with black decals.

In terms of interior, the Jimny Horizon version continues the two-seat layout and flat floor design of the standard version, and the maximum luggage compartment volume can reach 863 liters.

In terms of power, the new car still carries the familiar 1.5L naturally aspirated gasoline engine, with a maximum power of 102 horsepower (75 kilowatts) and a peak torque of 130 Nm. It is only matched with a manual transmission and uses four-wheel drive. Since 2021, due to the restrictions of local emission regulations, the Suzuki Jimny in the European and British markets only provides a light commercial vehicle version.

At present, the Suzuki Jimny Horizon version has been on sale at some Suzuki dealers in Germany, with a price of 32,340 euros (TapTechNews note: currently about 255,000 yuan). In contrast, the starting price of the standard Jimny in the German market is 29,490 euros (currently about 232,000 yuan).

The Suzuki official has confirmed that it is developing a pure electric version of the Jimny and plans to go on the market before 2030.
