Spotify Announces New 'Basic' Package After Price Hikes

TapTechNews June 21st news, after several recent overall price hikes, Spotify now announces the launch of a new Basic package, with a monthly fee the same as AppleMusic's individual subscription, which is $10.99 (TapTechNews note: currently about 80 Chinese yuan).

Spotify says Basic subscribers can enjoy all SpotifyPremium music and podcast functions, or in other words, compared to the $11.99 (currently about 87 Chinese yuan) Premium package, it just cuts out the 15-hour monthly audiobook duration.

It is worth noting that the SpotifyPremium individual subscription plan just announced a price increase at the beginning of this month, and the original price was exactly $10.99. At the same time, to obtain the cancelled monthly 15-hour audiobook entitlement, an additional $9.99 (currently about 73 Chinese yuan) needs to be paid monthly.

Spotify still offers a PremiumDuo subscription plan for 2 users ($15.99/month) and a PremiumFamily subscription plan for 6 users ($19.99/month), and these subscription plans still include a 15-hour monthly audiobook duration.
