This request will be made according to YouTube's privacy request process, rather than asking to remove it because it is misleading like deepfake. YouTube said that the main reason for the appeal to take down is that the film harms the right to privacy of the parties involved, and only the principal parties can request deletion, rather than because of deepfake technology and misleading content.

YouTube said that the platform will decide whether to take down the content according to multiple factors. TapTechNews summarizes as follows:

Whether the content is processed or synthetic content

Whether the content being processed or synthetic has been disclosed to the viewers

Whether it contains identifiable personal identity information

Whether the content is realistic

Whether the content involves spoofs, satires or other public interest values

Whether the content involves sensitive behaviors of public figures or well-known people, such as criminal activities, violent behaviors

After the platform receives the relevant complaint, it will give the complained party (that is, the content uploader) 48 hours to deal with the complaint. If the content has been deleted within this period, the complaint ends. Otherwise, YouTube will review the situation.

On the other hand, the complained content uploader can also take measures such as blurring the face in the food. However, setting the video as a private video does not meet the deletion requirement, because it may be restored to a public video at any time.
