Mercedes-Benz (China) to Recall 1,691 Imported A-Class Cars

TapTechNews August 6th news, TapTechNews learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that recently, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the Regulations on the Administration of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products and the Implementation Measures of the Regulations on the Administration of Recalls of Defective Automobile Products. As of now, recalling some imported A-class cars with production dates from May 29, 2018 to December 19, 2019, a total of 1,691 units.

In this recall, due to the deviation in the software development process of the combination instrument control unit of some vehicles in the recall range, the sign of the rear fog lamp in the combination instrument may not meet the regulations on the symbol of the rear fog lamp in the national standard.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. will, through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers, upgrade the software of the instrument control unit for free for the vehicles in the recall range.

This recall is an expanded recall of the Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. recalling some imported cars recall activity released on June 7, 2024.
