ByteDance stated that the company does have some exploration in the chip field, but it is still in the early stage, mainly focusing on cost optimization for businesses such as recommendation and advertising, and all projects are fully in line with relevant trade control regulations.
In the first half of this year, there was a foreign media report that ByteDance cooperated with Broadcom to develop an AI processor to ensure a sufficient number of high-end chips. This AI processor has a 5-nanometer manufacturing process and will be manufactured by TSMC. Although the design work is progressing smoothly, the tape-out that marks the end of the design stage and the beginning of manufacturing has not yet started.
