Baidu Reports 11% of Search Results Generated by AI in Q1 2024

On May 16, according to TapTechNews, during Baidu's first quarter financial report conference call for 2024, Baidu's founder, chairman, and CEO Robin Li mentioned that currently 11% of search results on Baidu are generated by AI, allowing search to provide more accurate, organized, and direct answers to users' questions.

Li Yanhong stated that the AI restructuring work of Baidu search is still in its early stages, and overall, search is most likely to become the Killer App of the AI era.

More than a year after the release of Wenxin Yiyuan, the number of users has exceeded 200 million, and the daily usage of the large language model also reached 200 million. Baidu has recently launched several lightweight large language models and introduced three development tools: AgentBuilder, AppBuilder, and ModelBuilder. Thanks to the mutual promotion of the large language model and Paddle, as of mid-April, the number of developers in the Paddle community has reached 13 million.

Combining with TapTechNews' earlier report today, Baidu achieved a total revenue of 31.5 billion yuan in Q1 this year, with core revenue of 23.8 billion yuan. In March 2024, Baidu App had 676 million monthly active users, a 3% year-on-year increase, and quarterly online marketing revenue of 17 billion yuan. Li Yanhong mentioned that after cooperating with China Samsung and Honor in the previous quarter, this quarter Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and other smartphone manufacturers have all incorporated the Wenxin large model API.
