Performance Issues

Windows 10 2019 Enterprise LTSC users reported that after installing the KB5041578 update, it takes a long time to wait to enter the desktop after clicking login.

And after entering the desktop, there will be a black screen for several minutes. After the desktop is loaded, the system runs very slowly, so that the affected devices cannot be used, and Remote Powershell also cannot work in this state.

Remote Connection Black Screen

Windows Server 2019 users reported that after installing this update, the remote connection only shows a black screen. After waiting for 1 hour, a desktop image did indeed appear on the remote desktop. However, the system and connection response speed is extremely slow and cannot be interacted with.

Temporary Solution

Some users have reported that deleting the content under the path C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 can alleviate this problem, and another way is to uninstall this update.
