TapTechNews July 9th news, AMD Zen5 architecture Strix series processors will have two packaging solutions, where the smaller StrixPoint will adopt FP8 packaging, while StrixHalo will adopt FP11 packaging.
The latest revelation from the source @Olrak29_ said that the FP11 packaging size of StrixHalo is 37.5mm * 45mm (about 1.687 square inches), which is the same as the LGA-1700 packaging size of Intel's AlderLake and RaptorLake CPUs.
AMD's latest Phoenix APU adopts the FP8 packaging solution with a size of 25 * 40mm, which means the FP11 packaging area of StrixHalo is 60% larger.

AMD FP6: 25 × 35mm, for Renoir, Cezanne, Lucienne, Barcelo
AMD FP7 (r2): 25 × 35mm, for Rembrandt/-R, Phoenix
AMD FP8: 25 × 40mm, for Phoenix, HawkPoint, StrixPoint
AMD FL1: 40 × 40mm, for DragonRange
AMD FP11: 37.5 × 40mm, for StrixHalo
TapTechNews previously reported that the AMD mobile processor with the code name StrixHalo adopts FP11 packaging and can carry up to 16-core Zen5 + 40CU RDNA3 + integrated graphics.
StrixHalo will be equipped with 16MB L2 cache, 64MB L3 cache and 32MB MALL Cache (similar to InfinityCache).
Unlike the traditional 128-bit width, StrixHalo will support 256-bit LPDDR5x-8000 memory, and the NPU computing power reaches 60 TOPS.
