Apple Updates macOS Sequoia with New Features for Remote Meetings

TapTechNews On June 14th, Apple announced at the WWDC2024 Worldwide Developers Conference that it will bring multiple updates to macOS Sequoia, focusing on improving the communication and exchange experience during the remote meeting process.

PresenterPreview

For those who frequently participate in remote meetings and demonstrate content by sharing the desktop, they may have already realized that there are some issues with sharing part of the desktop situation with others.

Not everyone keeps their desktop tidy, so others may see a large number of icons with interesting and sensitive names, and others may also capture on the screen what you don't want to share, such as confidential work or personal identity information.

In order to solve this problem, Apple is updating its presentation tool and adding the PresenterPreview function. As the name suggests, this function is used to preview the content of the currently shared screen with other call participants, helping users avoid the leakage of sensitive information in advance.

TapTechNews learned from the report that in addition to the preview function, there are other control functions that can change the content of the shared screen and completely stop sharing the screen.

Backgroundreplacements

A problem with remote meetings is the background. Users may be in a messy home environment, and this function can completely replace the background with other scenes.

Under the camera settings in the menu bar, there is an option named Background. Selecting this option will pop up a second window for actually choosing the background.

There are three tabs to choose from. The first is a regular graduated background color; the second tab is a horizontal background, but there is only one option available in the initial beta version; in the third tab, users can choose their own photos or images as the background.
