Microsoft Shelves Windows 11 'Recall' Function Release Plan

TapTechNews June 14th, Microsoft Corporation updated the press release today and announced that it is shelving the release plan of promoting the Windows 11 Recall function to Copilot+PC on June 18 and stated that it will invite members of the Windows Insider project to participate in the testing in the next few weeks.

Microsoft said that after collecting the feedback and suggestions of members of the Windows Insider project on the Recall function, it will be opened to all Copilot+PC devices in the form of a preview version.

TapTechNews reported on the 8th of this month that Jaime Teevan, Microsoft's chief research scientist, reaffirmed that the Windows 11 Recall function runs locally and is encrypted and stored. Today, through the Window Experience blog, Microsoft officials said that they are currently working hard to adjust Recall to reduce users' concerns.

Pavan Davuluri, the vice president of Microsoft who is in charge of managing the Windows+Devices team, did not apologize for the previously exposed security vulnerability of Recall. He only said that some adjustments are being made to reduce users' concerns.
