Silicon Motion Launches New Mobile SSD Controller SM2322

TapTechNews May 29th news, Silicon Motion today launched the next-generation single-chip mobile solid-state drive controller solution SM2322, which supports a rate of 20 Gigabits per second and a maximum capacity of 8 terabytes.

The SM2322 of Silicon Motion adopts the USB3.2 Gen2x2 interface and supports 20 Gigabits per second data transmission; this controller provides four 1200 megatransfers per second NAND channels, with a peak sequential read speed of 2100 megabytes per second and a write speed of 2000 megabytes per second.

According to the introduction, the SM2322 uses NANDXtend 4KB LDPC error-correcting technology and supports 3D TLC/QLC flash memory; it also supports SRAM ECC, AES 256-bit encryption and Apple MFi specifications.

Silicon Motion said that SM2322 is sampling to multiple users and will start mass production in the middle of this year.
