Tencent Wegame's 8th Anniversary and Upgrades
TapTechNews June 5th news, Tencent Wegame officials announced today that its single-player business is about to turn 8 years old, so a gratitude feedback celebration event was launched, and all players can claim a gratitude feedback voucher.
According to the introduction, this event provides a minimum of 10 US dollars vouchers at least, and if players have purchased single-player games on Wegame before, they can get larger denomination vouchers, for example, the TapTechNews author got a 15 US dollars voucher.
It is worth noting that if they have purchased Monster Hunter: World on Wegame back then and haven't refunded, it seems that they can get a large 169 US dollars voucher (minus 169 US dollars for every 200 US dollars) with a 100% chance.
As the first domestic 3A masterpiece, the Wegame version of Monster Hunter: World agented by Tencent went online on August 9, 2018, but it was announced to be taken down just 4 days later (August 13), and the official statement given by Tencent is:
Due to some game content of Monster Hunter World released on the Wegame platform not fully meeting the requirements of policies and regulations, the relevant government regulatory departments received a large number of reports, and the corresponding operating qualification documents of this game have now been cancelled.
In addition to being able to claim vouchers, Tencent also announced that it has provided a new upgrade of the rights and interests of single-player users for Wegame, including four items such as tens of millions of no sharing, refund guarantee, game update guarantee, and guarantee with compensation:
Tens of millions of no sharing
For synchronous first-release single-player games (copy sales), there is zero sharing for income within ten million US dollars on the platform, and every consumption by players is all used to support domestic development.
Refund guarantee
In the platform to buy any single-player game, if the playing time is no more than 2 hours and the purchase time is no more than 2 weeks, it can be unconditionally refunded.
Game update guarantee
Wegame and domestic developers jointly guarantee that all domestic single-player games in the platform will be kept in synchronous update with other platforms.
Guarantee with compensation
For single-player games purchased by players, even if the operation is stopped due to uncontrollable factors, they can still play locally. For players who have purchased within 1 year, they can apply for manual refund through customer service.
