Yu Chengdong said, 37 years ago, he, as the top science student in the college entrance examination in Huoqiu County, Anhui Province, was successfully admitted to the first major of his first choice and came to Northwestern Polytechnical University, which was the most correct choice in his life. TapTechNews learned that Yu Chengdong put forward four life insights and suggestions for the graduating juniors and juniors:

First, set an ambition. Position determines status, and vision determines realm. He recalled that he once set the ambition to become a chief engineer in the graduation autograph book and has been working towards this goal. Eventually, he became the first-level-six engineer and the first-level-seven engineer of Huawei, both of which were the highest-level engineers in Huawei at that time. As people often say, aiming high gets you halfway there, aiming halfway gets you nowhere. If you want to make a breakthrough, you have to have the air of a king and do your best.

Second, adhere to life-long learning. The study style of NPU is solid, which cultivates students to build a solid basic knowledge and exercise the learning ability, which is of great help to everyone's career development. He shared that in Huawei, he could deeply appreciate the importance of life-long learning. From intelligent control neural networks in the 1980s to now entering the AI era and choke point fields such as semiconductor new materials, only by keeping up with the development steps can we help us grasp the right direction in the forward process.

Third, pioneer and innovate. Pioneering and innovating is part of the connotation of the school spirit of NPU. In the current era of rapid technological development, no matter in which field we are, we should always have innovative thinking and maintain the attitude of pioneering and innovating, so as to grasp the development direction of the industry. He recalled that many important development milestones of Huawei are inseparable from the spirit and belief of the leaders and teams to dare to innovate and make breakthroughs, which is also the key quality that everyone can overcome difficulties and break through in the study and work.
