Survey iPhone 16 Prices in Different Countries, with China Having the Lowest and Japan Ranking Third

TapTechNews October 1st news, a survey result released by the Japanese private research company MM Research Institute shows that among the direct-sale prices of Apple's 128GB iPhone 16 in 39 countries and regions, the price in China is the lowest, while Japan ranks third.

Specifically, MM Research Institute compared the prices of the four models of the iPhone 16 series and converted them into Japanese yen according to the latest exchange rate. Taking the cheapest iPhone 16 (128GB) as an example, the global average price is 147,026 Japanese yen (about 7,219 Chinese yuan), while the price on the Chinese official website starts from 5,999 Chinese yuan, which is more than 1,200+ Chinese yuan lower than the average price. The domestic price in Japan is 124,800 Japanese yen (about 6,128 Chinese yuan), which is about 22,000 Japanese yen lower than the global average price. Japan's price ranks third in the world, second only to Thailand and China.

TapTechNews noticed that the price of iPhone 16 Plus 256GB in Japan is 154,800 Japanese yen (about 7,601 Chinese yuan), which is the second lowest in the world, while the price on the Chinese official website is 7,999 Chinese yuan.

The prices of iPhone 16 Pro 512GB and the most expensive iPhone 16 Pro Max 1TB in Japan are 204,800 Japanese yen (about 10,056 Chinese yuan) and 249,800 Japanese yen (about 12,265 Chinese yuan) respectively, both of which are the third lowest in the world, while in China they are 10,999 Chinese yuan and 13,999 Chinese yuan respectively.

Overall, the average price of these four models in Japan is about 35,000 Japanese yen (about 1,719 Chinese yuan) cheaper than the global average price. Compared with the previous generation iPhone 15 series, the price of the iPhone 16 series in Japan has not become the lowest in the world, and the gap with the global average price has also narrowed by nearly 8,000 Japanese yen. Although the lowest price of the new iPhone model has increased for four consecutive years, due to the depreciation of the Japanese yen, the iPhone in Japan is still relatively cheap globally. Apple has maintained the same price for the iPhone 16 series in the Japanese domestic market.
