Microsoft to Announce New Doom Game in June Xbox Event

TapTechNews May 25th news, Tom Henderson of the game media Insider-Gaming disclosed today that Microsoft will announce the Doom game in the Xbox Direct event in June, and the disclosed game name is Doom: The Dark Ages.

The earliest leak about the new Doom game can be traced back to 2023. The leaked court documents in the case of the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) suing Microsoft showed that B社 (Bethesda) is developing multiple projects.

In addition to projects such as the remakes of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion and Fallout 3, the documents also revealed that idSoftware is developing a new Doom game called YearZero, which started in 2020.

TapTechNews reported on May 14th that Microsoft, B社 (Bethesda), and the developer idSoftware may launch a brand new Doom game during the June event.

B社 (Bethesda) applied for IDKFA in January this year, and this term is well-known in the first-generation Doom game as a cheat code that can obtain all weapons and keys in the game.

idSoftware restarted the Doom series in 2016 and launched a sequel, Doom Eternal, in 2020. Therefore, it is possible that this studio will announce the launch of the third Doom game that continues the storyline this year, and it may be launched in 2025.
