At the launch ceremony of the first voyage of the domestic pure electric cross-border tourist bus 'Ankai A9', the electric tourist buses of 49 seats and 65 seats were presented on the same spot. The operator said that the operating cost of the electric bus is 70% lower than that of the diesel bus, and the climbing ability is better than that of the diesel bus. The company plans to replace all diesel buses on the Man Kam To special line with electric buses within the next two years, and the traveling routes will also be expanded to routes such as traveling between the Hong Kong urban area and Shenzhen Bay, Liantang, and Huanggang Port.

Currently, the 49-seat electric bus put into operation has a cruising range of up to 430 kilometers. It adopts a double-gun charging port design, which is enough to make more than 50 round trips between Sheung Shui and the Man Kam To Control Point. The appearance of the electric bus is no different from that of the traditional diesel bus, but it is equipped with a battery with an intelligent cooling system to prevent overheating. Each seat in the car is also equipped with aUSB charging device for mobile phones, and there is also a cup holder for passengers to place drinks.

To celebrate the 27th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to the motherland, in the first month of the opening of the electric tourist bus (from June 25th to July 24th), passengers can take it for free, and it is expected that as many as 8820 people can benefit.

TapTechNews inquires and learns that the bus has 6 trips daily, of which 3 trips depart from Sheung Shui, which are 10 a.m., 12 noon, and 2 p.m. respectively; the other 3 trips depart from the Man Kam To Control Point, which are 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. respectively.

The free bus pass is issued at the ticket office in Sheung Shui/Man Kam To Control Point in the form of distributing tickets one hour before departure, and when it is distributed out, each person is limited to one ticket per trip to exchange for a bus pass. Each bus can carry 49 passengers. Citizens can experience the advantages of pure electric tourist buses and contribute to green travel.

The operator said that in the future, it will continue to introduce different models of electric buses, including minibuses and double-decker buses. In addition, a charging and maintenance yard will be built in Tai Sang Wai, Yuen Long, covering an area of more than 70,000 square feet. It is ex pected to have 65 charging piles and will be put into service by the end of this year.
