NetEase Cloud Music Partners with Hongmeng Zhixing to Offer High-Quality AI Sound Quality Upgrade Service for In-Car Users

TapTechNews May 31st news, NetEase Cloud Music and Hongmeng Zhixing (including Wenjie, Zhijie, Xiangjie, etc.) jointly launched a high-quality AI sound quality upgrade service based on deep neural network technology. Thanks to this, NetEase Cloud Music has also become the first online music platform in China to launch NPU sound quality service on the automotive platform.

According to the introduction, this service can call the NPU hardware computing unit of the intelligent cockpit to render super high-quality musical details in real time, thereby greatly enhancing the sound experience of in-car users in the in-car space.

NetEase Cloud Music stated that the high-quality AI sound quality service based on NPU technology specifically includes three sound qualities, namely super clear master tape, high-definition Zhenyin and immersive surround sound.

According to the introduction, high-definition Zhenyin & super clear master tape is based on lossless audio, and uses a neural network algorithm to optimize the real-time generation of audio details, further increasing the sampling rate of digital audio and making up for the lack of low frequency and high-frequency loss caused during the audio production process, restoring the experience of the master tape and the recording scene to the greatest extent, while also greatly solving the problem of vehicle-mounted traffic consumption and stuttering.

Immersive surround sound then uses AI to separate the instruments, vocals, accompaniment, etc. of the master tape audio to generate a 5.1-channel, improving the spatial resolution to achieve an immersive listening experience, allowing users to enjoy richer and deeper musical details in the songs.

NetEase Cloud Music stated that after providing these high-quality sound quality services with NPU technology in the in-vehicle scene, it can greatly improve the in-vehicle use experience of in-car users, such as reducing the broadband & traffic costs of users.

According to the experimental measurement, when playing NPU files, only lossless audio needs to be pulled, and the file size drops by about 80% compared to the super clear master tape generated in the cloud, and by about 70% compared to the high-definition Zhenyin. Previously, an audio file with more than 200M only needs 20M to enjoy the same high-quality experience with the Kirin chip.

Secondly, this service can avoid playback stuttering. Users no longer need to pull hundreds of megabytes of large audio files through the network, avoiding frequent buffering stuttering caused by the slow file download. At the same time, this service can expand the song coverage range. The entire song library content of NetEase Cloud Music can be processed with NPU, covering the listening experience of users without dead ends.

In addition, in addition to the Hongmeng Zhixing series of models, NetEase Cloud Music also said that it will launch high-quality AI sound quality experience on more brand models.
