TapTechNews noted that the first mandatory national standard for express packaging, Limits of Heavy Metals and Specific Substances in Express Packaging, was implemented on June 1st this year. It clearly prohibits the use of toxic and harmful express packaging and sets the safety bottom line and red line requirements for express packaging.

The Limits of Heavy Metals and Specific Substances in Express Packaging standard puts forward the overall limit requirements and individual limit requirements of heavy metals such as lead, mercury, cadmium, and chromium for paper, plastic, textile fiber and composite material express packaging products respectively; and stipulates the limit requirements of specific substances such as solvent residues, bisphenol A, and phthalates.
