Microsoft and Amazon Announce Major Investments in France

TapTechNews.net user 我抢了台 (User I picked up a lead) thank you for the tip from Southern China Wu Yanzu! Microsoft announced on Sunday that it will invest €40 billion (approximately 311.6 billion RMB) in France by 2027. The decision was made before the 7th Choose France summit aimed at attracting foreign investors to invest in France, which will be hosted by the French President at the Palace of Versailles in Paris. The French President met with Microsoft CEO Brad Smith at the Microsoft France headquarters this morning. Smith told Agence France-Presse that this is the largest investment Microsoft has made in France in 41 years, with most of the investment focusing on artificial intelligence (AI). Additionally, Microsoft will establish a data center in Mulhouse, a city in eastern France. Smith also stated that Microsoft made this decision because France is a key leader in Europe and has made long-term commitments to the carbon-free energy market. Amazon also announced a €12 billion (approximately 93.48 billion RMB) investment in France, creating 3,000 jobs to develop the infrastructure for Amazon Web Services (AWS) in France.
