Global and Chinese Mainland Wearable Wristband Device Shipments in Q1 2024

TapTechNews May 30th news, Canalys released the latest research report. In the first quarter of 2024, the global shipment of wearable wristband devices reached 41.2 million units, basically the same as the same period last year.

By manufacturers, Apple experienced a double-digit decline again this quarter, but still firmly sat in the first place with an 18% share. Relying on its rich product portfolio of wristbands and rapid overseas expansion, Xiaomi achieved a 38% year-on-year growth and ranked second with a 15% share. Thanks to the strong shipment of HUAWEI Watch GT4 in the domestic market, Huawei achieved a 46% year-on-year growth and ranked third with a 13% market share. Due to the launch of the entry-level bracelet new product Galaxy Fit3, Samsung achieved a 4% growth year-on-year and ranked fourth with a 7% share. Affected by the overall poor performance of the Indian market, Noise showed a slow decline in the first quarter, falling by 2% year-on-year, but still squeezed into the fifth place with a 5% share.

If we only look at the Chinese mainland market, then Huawei achieved a 'far ahead' with a 38% market share this quarter, and achieved a 38% year-on-year growth compared to the first quarter of last year. In addition, Xiaomi's shipments increased by 15% year-on-year and occupied the second place with a 22% market share.

TapTechNews noticed that in this quarter, the three major brands of Xiaotiancai, Apple and Honor all showed different degrees of negative growth, and the total share was only 17%, far less than that of Huawei and Xiaomi.

If we expand our view to the Asia-Pacific region, then the Indian smartwatch giants Noise and FireBoltt firmly occupy the top two positions, while Apple, Xiaomi and boAt (India) are ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.
