TCL Central Appoints New CEO Wang Yanjun After Shen Haoping's Resignation

TapTechNews October 2nd news, TCL Central recently released the Announcement on Appointing the Company's CEO (Chief Executive Officer) stating that upon the nomination of the company's chairman and the review of the company's Nomination Committee of the Board of Directors, the board of directors agreed to appoint Wang Yanjun as the company's CEO (Chief Executive Officer), and the term of office starts from the date of approval by this board of directors until the expiration of the company's 7th board of directors.

Since the date when Wang Yanjun served as the CEO, Li Dongsheng, the chairman of TCL Central, no longer acts as the CEO on behalf.

Public information shows that Wang Yanjun was born in 1983, has a master's degree in engineering, is a Ph.D. candidate at the Nano Technology and Nano Bionic Institute of the University of Science and Technology of China, and is a senior engineer. He is the vice chairman and general manager of Central Leading Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd., and has previously served as TCL Central's SVP (Senior Vice President) and other positions.

According to TapTechNews' previous report, on August 2 this year, TCL Central announced the resignation of CEO Shen Haoping, citing due to work needs and personal energy considerations. TCL boss Li Dongsheng temporarily took over the CEO's responsibilities and will complete the relevant process of appointing a new CEO in accordance with relevant regulations.

Some people in the photovoltaic industry believe that the departure of Shen Haoping may be due to the wrong market judgment in the first and second quarters of this year, and the Central was arranged for aggressive full-load production in the early stage, resulting in billions of silicon wafers in inventory, and at the same time, the significant price fluctuations in the silicon wafer market also caused huge losses due to price drops.
