Security researchers have found that hackers take advantage of the way Safari, Chrome, Firefox and other browsers handle 0.0.0.0 IP address queries, redirecting these requests to other IP addresses, including the local server localhost. Through this method, hackers can access files and other private data on the company's servers, including sensitive information such as development code and internal communications. Even more seriously, they can even execute malicious code on servers running the AI training framework Ray. TapTechNews noted that this attack only affects macOS and Linux systems, and Microsoft's Windows system avoids such risks as it blocks 0.0.0.0.

In the face of this threat, Apple told Forbes that it will block website access to 0.0.0.0 in the macOS Sequoia beta version. Google also said it will take similar measures in subsequent versions of Chrome. However, Mozilla is cautious about fully restricting 0.0.0.0 access, fearing potential compatibility issues.

Security researchers will announce more details of the vulnerability at the DEFCON hacker conference this weekend.
