Google says users can choose to log in to the Chrome account to get a personalized browsing experience, including sending tab pages between different devices and using saved passwords. But if users don't want to associate their browsing data with the Google account, they can also not log in. Google also emphasizes that saving the history and open tab pages to the Google account requires the user's individual consent.

TapTechNews noticed that Chrome product manager ClaireCharron wrote in the announcement: Today, users increasingly expect to access their data simply by logging in and ensure security by logging out. Given this evolution of technology and user habits, we are continuing to work to transform our traditional sync model into a model that better meets the current expectations of users.

As for when this feature will be officially launched on Android and desktop, Google says stay tuned for updates.
