The first two chapters of the Tesla's Master Plan have long been regarded as important guiding documents for the company's development, and have largely laid the foundation for its success. Currently, Tesla has achieved most of the goals in the first two chapters.

TapTechNews noted that last year, Musk released the Master Plan Part 3 through a presentation and a white paper. The third part is very different from the first two parts. There is no specific product roadmap, but rather focuses on the mathematical model demonstration of transforming the global economy into a sustainable development model through electric vehicles and renewable energy.

Now, Musk says he is working on formulating Tesla's Master Plan Part 4, and it will be epic.

Tesla's Master Plan Chapters 1 and 2

On August 2, 2006, Musk posted a blog article titled The Secret Tesla Motors Master Plan (just between you and me). The ending summarizes the core principles and is divided into four steps:

Build a sports car

Use that money to build an affordable car

Use that money to build an even more affordable car

In the above process, provide a zero-emission power generation plan at the same time

Although the process is not all smooth sailing, Tesla has basically achieved this goal through the Roadster, Model S and Model 3.

In 2016, Musk released Tesla's Master Plan Part 2. At that time, Tesla was in the stage of delivering Model 3 and acquiring SolarCity, which were basically the last two steps to realize the original plan.

In Tesla's Master Plan Part 2, Musk emphasized the importance of combining energy storage with renewable energy generation, which is the responsibility of the newly established Tesla Energy division. The plan also announced the research and development of solar roofs. The updated plan also focuses on the autopilot function, which has become a major priority for Tesla.

Musk concluded at the end of Tesla's Master Plan Part 2:

Create a beautiful solar roof with integrated seamless battery storage

Expand the electric vehicle product line to cover all major market segments

Develop an autopilot function that is 10 times safer than manual driving through large-scale fleet learning

Enable users to make money when the car is not in use

Other market segment models mentioned in the plan also include a new pickup truck (later Cybertruck), a compact SUV (Model Y), a heavy-duty truck (Tesla Semi), and finally a high passenger density urban transport vehicle. At present, almost every model announced in the plan has been released, and most of them have been put into production, except for the high passenger density urban transport vehicle.
