China Develops Tunnel Unmanned Emergency Rescue System with Independent IPR

TapTechNews August 9th news, according to Xinhua News Agency, the Aerospace Science and Industry Simulation Technology Co., Ltd. affiliated to the Second Department of the Second Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation has successively overcome key technologies such as tunnel autonomous navigation, radar detection and obstacle avoidance, autonomous route planning, tunnel communication transmission, and ultra-low altitude fire extinguishing, and successfully developed a tunnel unmanned emergency rescue system with independent intellectual property rights.

TapTechNews learned that compared to highway rescue, tunnel emergency rescue has problems such as complex terrain, reduced perception conditions, lack of satellite signal support, limited access to the site, and lack of navigation means.

This tunnel unmanned emergency rescue system realizes autonomous navigation in tunnels without satellite signals, intelligently identifies and locates the fire source and personnel, accurately deploys rescue equipment or fire-extinguishing materials, and quickly handles it in the early stage of the fire, solving the problem of no satellite signal, road congestion, and inability to obtain the situation at the accident site and deal with it promptly when a fire occurs in a highway tunnel.

At present, this system has completed the tests of tunnel autonomous navigation, autonomous obstacle avoidance, and fire-extinguishing bomb deployment, verifying the flight stability of the drone in special environments such as narrow and long tunnels and without satellite navigation signals, and will be promoted and used in various emergency rescue scenarios such as highway fire fighting in the future.
